Yeah, right, the Gremlin was a disaster but the Pinto and Vega weren't, sure, I'll buy that. Looking a little weird is clearly way, way, worse than catching on fire or completely falling apart in the warranty period.

The Jeep XJ was an AMC product, it wasn't a failure also.

As was the Wrangler (it was already set for launch when Chrysler bought them) and the HMMWV.
Plus, the early '60s Ramblers can't have been all bad for the brand to reach #3 in sales. That's where Toyota is today, after all.
